I don't know how I feel about this story because I think an innocent person is paying for somebody else's mistakes. The resolution here is clear: What should be drying the countertop should be one of the boyfriend's belongings, but I don't think the brother is seeing things clearly. Sometimes, these types of petty revenge work for soothing an underlying emotion, and not necessarily for communicating something, and that kinda restores the balance of the universe: nobody gets significantly hurt, and the resentful avenger derives pleasure from his minimal revenge; it's a win-win!

  • The only thing I have to say about the brother’s attitude is that it’s weird that he communicates with his sister’s boyfriend through her. I think, if they are living under the same roof 3 days a week, he can totally walk up to him and tell him he needs to dry the countertop or measures will be taken. What measures?   • And yes, the sister shouldn’t be paying for this; if her boyfriend stays there three days a week, he has to have something of his own there- a sock, a t-shirt, something. If NOTHING I listed before, not the talking, nor the sign, nor anything works, he should definitely go for his t-shirts.
